The Best Product Reviews
I am not able to review this product based on performance; however, I thought those shopping should know that this product retails for 199.99 on hp’s site, and they are currently selling it for 139.99. DO NOT pay what Amazon is asking for this printer.
That said, I am excited to try it out. All of the reviews have been terrific.

This printer has not worked since the day we bought it. I’m a software developer and tech geek and this is the WORST piece of garbage I’ve ever owned… It starts printing and errors out every time no matter which PC or operating system we are printing from. I will never buy an HP product again.

I’m a techie, and I’m still trying to *set up* this printer. I haven’t even *started* to hook it up to a computer. I’m still having trouble printing out the test sheets. It’s one error code after another, and I still can’t align the heads. Naturally, the print quality is horrible because there is absolutely no black coming out of either of the 2 black cartridges. And to think — I bought this printer for my parents so that they could print some pictures!!! If I can’t deal with it, then they won’t at all. It will just collect dust until we throw it out.
How sad. HP used to make great printers. They must have outsourced this one, in the interest of maximizing profit. They don’t even have a phone number that you can call any more for support. You have to go on the web, find just the right printer, and search for your problem. Well HP, let’s see what kind of profit you can make off *nothing*, because I am thoroughly disgusted and I won’t buy your products any more!

Definitely one of the best printers I have owned, and I highly recommend it for its versatility and ease of installation and use. If there was one thing I wished it did a little better, it would be its compatibility with some versions of OS X (namely 10.4 and earlier). I downloaded the drivers from HP’s website, and it works fine, but only for some of the features that the printer is capable of doing.
The biggest drawback is the inability to print 2-sided docs from a macbook. This option is availableon the printer, and I have had no problem whatsoever getting it to work on a PC. But for some reason this option is greyed out in the print settings on a mac.
I have heard that it works okay if you have OS X (10.5 or higher), though some have also said the version doesn’t matter. In the end I think HP needs to update the drivers, so that this function works.
That being said, it seems to the only drawback so far.

PROS: PRICE WAS REASONABLE AT THE TIME OF SALE. VERY FAST PPM. FAST SHIPPING. THIS IS MY 5TH HP PRINTER.
CONS: 31 DAYS LATER THEY LOWERED THE PRICE ABOUT $40.00. THEY DECLINED A PRICE MATCH REFUND AND THEY WERE VERY RUDE TO ME FOR ASKING. COLORS ARE NOT THAT CLOSE TO THE ORIGINAL PHOTO COLORS. FIRST SHIPPED PRINTER WAS DEFECTIVE, BUT THE EXCHANGE PROCESS WAS STRESS-FREE (EXCEPT FOR THE WAITING PERIOD). ALL INITAL INK CARTRIDGES HAD VERY LITTLE INK IN THEM. IN THE PAST, HP FILLED THEIR INITAL CARTRIDGES ABOUT HALF FULL.
